Editing music video

After filming our music video project, my group and I began to work on the editing process. For our editing, we are using the platform called Imovie. This is a very easy editing app because you can get it on any apple product, and everyone on our group has iPhones. This makes it so we can edit the video off our phone. This makes the editing so much more stress free since we don’t need anything extra to do it. Since the films were also done on our phone, it makes it even easier for us. In imovie you basically just import the clips, record the sound u want to be playing and bam, it’s done. Then the video will just play through. You can add however many filter you feel necessary to the footage. There are also multiple transitions you can use from one video to the next. Overall, Imovie is very practical for our group. Using it was simple and created a nice video so far.

Before putting our clips into Imovie, we had to go through them to see which ones we were using and if we needed to trim them. As we were doing this, we found many clips that needed to be trimmed and many clips that weren’t good enough to use. This caused some panic in my group. However, it was resolved after we realized I could just go back to the beach and film again. After trimming all footage and picking and choosing, we put them into iMovie. The videos looked surprisingly professional, and it wasn’t half bad. This was before we even added the music. Me and one of my group même vers, Adriana, took a step outside to record the music for iMovie. I had to play the song off my phone and then put it against her phone while she was recording sound on iMovie. We eventually found the best way to do this and were successful. After putting the music in, the music video was really starting to come together, both of our actors were happy with it as well.

As said earlier, after trimming a sifting through footage, we found we didn’t have enough to make the whole 60 seconds. This meant that I had to go back and reshoot some shots as well as make new ones. This put some pressure on me, since my whole group was relying on me to film. I was okay will the pressure because I knew I would get it done. One of the actors in the video is my sister, the other is our close friend Sam. This made it easier to film a second day. The only annoying thing was that everyone had to be wearing the sam clothes and it had to be at least similar conditions at the beach. This meant that we would have to return to the beach at the same time, with the sam clothes, same camera, same glasses, same everything. This posed quite a struggle for filming when I wanted to, but all filming will be done by Friday. So far, our video is pretty good and is coming together well.
