Editing music video

After filming our music video project, my group and I began to work on the editing process. For our editing, we are using the platform called Imovie. This is a very easy editing app because you can get it on any apple product, and everyone on our group has iPhones. This makes it so we can edit the video off our phone. This makes the editing so much more stress free since we don’t need anything extra to do it. Since the films were also done on our phone, it makes it even easier for us. In imovie you basically just import the clips, record the sound u want to be playing and bam, it’s done. Then the video will just play through. You can add however many filter you feel necessary to the footage. There are also multiple transitions you can use from one video to the next. Overall, Imovie is very practical for our group. Using it was simple and created a nice video so far.

Before putting our clips into Imovie, we had to go through them to see which ones we were using and if we needed to trim them. As we were doing this, we found many clips that needed to be trimmed and many clips that weren’t good enough to use. This caused some panic in my group. However, it was resolved after we realized I could just go back to the beach and film again. After trimming all footage and picking and choosing, we put them into iMovie. The videos looked surprisingly professional, and it wasn’t half bad. This was before we even added the music. Me and one of my group même vers, Adriana, took a step outside to record the music for iMovie. I had to play the song off my phone and then put it against her phone while she was recording sound on iMovie. We eventually found the best way to do this and were successful. After putting the music in, the music video was really starting to come together, both of our actors were happy with it as well.

As said earlier, after trimming a sifting through footage, we found we didn’t have enough to make the whole 60 seconds. This meant that I had to go back and reshoot some shots as well as make new ones. This put some pressure on me, since my whole group was relying on me to film. I was okay will the pressure because I knew I would get it done. One of the actors in the video is my sister, the other is our close friend Sam. This made it easier to film a second day. The only annoying thing was that everyone had to be wearing the sam clothes and it had to be at least similar conditions at the beach. This meant that we would have to return to the beach at the same time, with the sam clothes, same camera, same glasses, same everything. This posed quite a struggle for filming when I wanted to, but all filming will be done by Friday. So far, our video is pretty good and is coming together well.

Filming at the beach

Sunday was the day that I filmed. The actor/actress we used were named kelly and sam. Kelly is my sister and Sam is a close friend. We hang out all of the time, so I figured for my group it would be easier to just shoot them in the scene rather than a friend who might not be able to meet up. The filming ended up being a LOT of fun. My sister and Sam basically had to play a romance on the beach. This was very laughable since they are not actually together in real life. For the music video however, they played their parts very well. We ended up filming at the beach and doing a cliche, Sam meets kelly and then talks her up and they end up getting together. The filming was done by me, and I had to improvise for some shots for certain camera angles.

When we got to the beach, we took out the necessary props, aka the beach towel that is carried by kelly in the first clip. The story follows the lines of Sam seeing Kelly at the beach and begin talking to each other and then hanging out and becoming boyfriend and girlfriend. It is a regular cliche, but I like to think of this one as better than most. The first clip of kelly carrying the blanket had to be a track shot. This was very difficult because we were on the beach and I dont have a track and I couldn't push a skateboard with me on it. I ended up just steadily walking behind her and it is an actually pretty stable clip. That was only one difficulty we had. When I began to take the pier shots, I had to get different high and low angles. Because of the pier being there I couldn't get the highest angle from under the pier. However I found a way to hop up onto the concrete platform and shoot from up there. We came up with various solutions to various problems and it ended up working out just fine.

The filming that we completed if added together creates more than 60 seconds. However after editing the video, we are definitely going to trim some of the footage because of bloopers at the ends of beginning of the video. I hope we will still be able to make the full 60 seconds time. If need be, I might film during the week a little more just to give extra footage for just in case. You can never be too safe, and I want this project to be well put together. I really hope by the romance we didn’t violate any rules that we don’t know about, such as wearing bathing suits? Sam and Kelly and their slight PDA? Hopefully everything will be fine and we won’t have to delete some of our video. That would not be pleasant. However, I believe everything will run smoothly and we will be able to make the best possible video we could have. It already has great quality footage, now we just need to add the music and BOOM, it almost done.

Filming/not actually Blog

Despite the title of this blog, there was no filming done this weekend. When we were in school on Thursday, we planned on filming on the weekend. We were going to meet up at lauderdale by the sea’s beach and then film there. This was because they had the perfect scenery we imagined for our video. However, once it became Friday, we had some trouble on planning what time we should all to to the beach to film, because everyone in our group had different things they were doing. Andrew has to go to work on Saturday, so if we did it then he wouldn’t be there. Adriana was supposed to bring her two friends because they are the ones staring in our project. This was just more people to match our schedules with, which made it more difficult. And then Ben, the only flexible person, can go whenever. That’s on the bright side, i’m able to go pretty much whenever as well.

Right now i’m slightly worried about how our music video is going to come out because we can’t seem to find the right date for everyone to meet up together. This could make us have to revert to another plan. The problem is, our storyboard is planned by having two people meet with each other and we show a romance kind-of story. Because we can’t find a guy to participate in our video seriously, we might have to do a lesbian romance instead. This is actually fine because we can use that to make an even better background story, maybe involving homophobic parents. We could show off the hardships that gay people have to go though in this country. Weird stares from around, unable to show public displays of affection, etc. We could use the song to portray an even deeper meaning if this is what we decide to do. However, this would make the video more difficult which means we would have to probably film more than once. This creates the same problem because then we would have to find not one but two dates that all of us could meet up together.

I may try to find anyone that could be in our video to make it more similar to our original plan just so we already have it organized and planned out. Our video is going to be a slight story but also have a very aesthetic look to it. We are going to try to match the mood of the video to the song, taking shifts and different beats into account. The song we chose, sunset lover, has a beat that could sway either sad to happy, so we can really play around with it and do what we think looks best. For some of the video, I might try to get some clips on a sunrise to put at the beginning to set the mood on the beach vid. We are going to have multiple small clips to put together an aesthetic story to hopefully impress whoever watches it. I really hope that our video ends up turning out good because not only do I want a good grade but I just want to be able to watch our video at the end and be like, wow we did really good. We are doing something different than most, so I hope we can make it something none of the teachers have seen yet.

Storyboard blog

The costumes that we will be using are bathing suits and hoodies. We are wearing these not for their intended use but to give of a hip look. it is used for the intended  Florida aesthetic. we will also be wearing sunglasses, flip flops and sandals. For the lighting of our music video, we will be relying largely on the sun. we also will have scenes in the dark so we will be using the white light from our phones. So the main source of our lighting will natural light.  For our cast (actors) we have the female protagonist which will be played by one of our members sister, (Kelly). She will be the one running around with the towel around her neck. The camera angles we will be using for the music video are going to be: wide shot,  pan, tilt, trunk shot, high angle shot, close ups and two people shots. for our male protagonist, we will be using our friend Sam. were giving g him a beach boy look. we will be using no beauty make up. sunblock will be used as our version of make up. we have a few props. we will be using towels, cars, the pier. we are mainly relying on the setting to tell our story. For our setting we will be at the Lauderdale by the sea beach. we will be under the fishing pier for a large portion of the music video. The editing of the video will be done by our most experienced member (Ben) on his iBUYPOWER Gaming Desktop Trace2 97K80 Intel Core i7 9th Gen 9700K (3.60 GHz) 32 GB DDR4 2 TB HDD 480 GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Windows 10. The sounds of the video besides the music will have some ocean sounds in the beginning/ intro. The purpose of this to to lock in the tone of the music video. Because the music has no lyrics, the message the video gives off has to be based on the visual and instrumental, not the words.

Planning blog

The location for out music video is very flexible as the song we chose is instrumental. We thought of the idea to do a sunrise/ sunset type of vibe. We also thought that if that doesn't work out for some reason that a rainy day would work too. The song we chose can be interpreted in many different ways therefore we can work it any way. Our preferred location would be the beach and if not an open large field. Health and safety would be mostly considered for our car shots. We also need to make sure that the beach is safe for use. We want to make sure we are not in the way of any beach goers and get their permission if we need them in the video.

Our biggest props would be a car and some lifeguard stands. Of course we are not going to specifically buy any of these items for our music video as we already have access to them. We would also need some beach towels, sunglasses, stick/drone to get high shots. Costumes for our music video would some "typical Floridian". Some shorts and a tank top or a bathing suit as we are going for a "beach vibe". Anything that is considered beach or beach like clothing.

Our schedule for the music video would go as follows. By the 21st of November we needed to decide our location which we have already. By the 25th of November we want to have most if not all of our filming finished and documented (pt.1). By the 2nd of December the pt.2 of the last completion process should be finished. Filming would be done and clips would be decided on and placed in order to be edited. By the 9th of December our music video would be needed to be fully complete with added sound and full editing etc. Lastly, by the 11th of December the final assessment and analysis of our music video would be complete and wed wrap up the project.

Intro to music video

After we finally submitted our commercial, we had yet another project to begin working on. This project was called: the music video project. For this we have to pick an already-created song and make the music video for it. We do not have do change the song at all, we just have to create a story behind the song and act it out. We wanted to choose a creative song, one we could choose the story for. We had a very difficult time doing this because most songs already have a story that they are telling. Eventually, we asked our teachers if we could use a song that had to lyrics, just a cool beat. They approved this idea which made us able to choose a good song we could create our own story for. This led to finding the song: Sunset Loved.

The song we chose is called Sunset Lover by Petit Biscuit. The song is not extremely popular, and neither is the artist, however developing a concept for the song was rather easy. The song doesn't have words, making it more instrumental, but has a type of beat that can be used to create a good story. Due to the fact that the song is so instrumental is has a strong beat that can portray a sad situation or something really happy. My team and I decided to go with a beachy concept of teens having fun during the summer, driving around, enjoying their time and watching the sunset go by.
This song would fall into a mix of EDM music but mostly Tropical house or vapor wave. To set up the feeling and theme we want for our music video we want to make sure that we accomplish six things.

For the vapor wave genre:
1st- The costumes, are very retro, modern and a somewhat neo-noir style.
2nd- The lighting, very bright positive colors like what would be in a sunset, also giving a mellow tone.
3rd - The Acting, is a calm non hyper-feeling.
4th- The Makeup, there is minimal makeup done in this genre. It doesn't focus on the looks of the actors.
5th- The props, skate boards, bikes, and other things that you would normal use and see as calming
6th- The scenery, is a beach-like late afternoon early night.

Final editing blog

Today we did the final editing for our commercial. The first thing we did was import all of the clips we recorded onto the computer. This took a very long amount of time, which made us have a very short amount of time to work on it, especially since it was a half day. After importing, we had to select which clips we wanted to use. I was very picky about this because i was in the video and i didn’t want it to look bad. There were a lot of clips we had to choose from, thankfully. We were very relieved that we took a lot of shots, it made it much easier to put our video together. A lot of clips had minor issues in them either with the visual or the audio, this made us think more about using voiceovers. We did have enough takes that were fine to use, therefore we did not have to improvise. We then took our selected clips and edited them together. We tried to do the best we could with the slow computers that didn’t work very well.

We began to edit them by dragging one clip onto the other. We needed to make the end of the first clip touch the beginning of the second clip, so it blended together as one smooth video. We ended up needing to remove a lot of the footage because the clips were way too long. We did this by clipping scene by scene to the perfect length. Once we had the clips shortened and pasted together we had to begin working with the audio. Most of what we had recorded originally was what we were going to use. However, a few of the clips needed to be re recorded for the audio. We had to import the new audio we recorded today. It was the same process as importing the visual clips. Then we began messing with the audio, dun dun dunnn..

Under the visual clip line there is a little audio clip line. We took the audio clip and trimmed it down to match the visual, since we removed some footage. Then, we inserted the audio into the audio line for the scene. Another issued we had to deal with was the narration/voiceover. We recorded voiceover for the slogan of the commercial. Doing this was rather easy, as all we needed to do was play the audio over a picture of the Gatorade bottle itself. Next we had to insert a picture of the Gatorade logo at the end. After we finished all the editing we watched the almost-final product. We noticed the speed of the voiceover didn't match the clip it was on, which really sucked! We ended up figurines out how to speed up the audio without speeding up the visual. The sad thing is whenever you have to speed up the audio it doesn’t sound as authentic, but hopefully we can make it work.

Editing the commercial

When we got to class today, we were informed that the editing site was not working. After the teacher tried and multiple students tried we finally gave up on the site working. This kind of sucked because we wanted to edit our video to see if we needed anymore footage that we didn’t get. This would make it so we still would have some time to film the videos we still needed. Now, we are kind of stuck in the dark. We took as many videos as possible for each scene, so hopefully we captured the right footage. We will end up seeing how it turns out after next class when we can hopefully begin to edit. We are praying that the footage we took covers everything and that we don’t have a gap in our commercial that doesn’t make sense. Because the editing website wasn’t working, we decided that the only thing we could do is go outside and film a couple more scenes anyways. We had the extra time to because we couldn’t do anything else in class, so we decided the best choice was to film. More videos taken is better than less.

So despite the title of this blog, there was no editing actually completed in class. The editing site we are supposed to use, pinnacle studios, was not working. This made it a little more difficult for us, because we didn’t know what should be re-videoed since we didn’t get to lay out our footage. However, it did make it so we had an extra day to finish our ending-clips for the commercial project, which was nice. At the end of our commercial, I have to say a statement and then catch a bottle of Gatorade. This is the part that we filmed today. Everything was much more cooperative today unlike last class. The weather was nice and there were very few people outside since most had already finished filming. This made it easier to get the right shot and we had to take much fewer takes than last class. We believe we got the right clip for the video. I like the way it looks and you can clearly hear my voice even though it was slightly windy outside. This might change whether we voiceover the whole commercial or not.

For the actual taping of the video, I threw on my soccer uniform on top of my school clothes to save us some time. We then only did the scenes we knew we needed more filming for. This allowed us to still have time to write a blog when we got back to class. For these clips I had to say these exact words: “After my game, I love a nice refreshing sip of Gatorade”. As soon as I say the word Gatorade, one of my team members tosses a Gatorade bottle right into my hand. This adds to the dramatic ‘gatorade’ effect. For most of the videos, we had to retake them because the tossing of the bottle was not perfected for a good amount of time. When tossing the bottle, they had to do it from the right angle so their arm wouldn’t get in camera shot. They also had to make sure that the bottle was through right up and down so that I could easily catch it. This process took a while to perfect but we eventually got it. The clip we took today I believe was *the one*. I slickly caught the bottle without looking to the side and stated my statement with a good pronunciation. Next class we will hopefully begin the editing process.

Filming

Today we started filming our commercial project, and we were advertising Gatorade. Since I play soccer, we decided to incorporate it into the video to help project our Gatorade message. Before we went out, we reviewed our storyboard to make sure we had everything we needed to complete the filming process. We did, so we got our pass and walked out the classroom to first change and then head out to the soccer field. I changed into my sisters old FLHS soccer jersey that was the uniform for our games, so it was perfect. I put on a jersey, shorts, shin guards, socks, and cleats. I also brought a ball from home so we could use it for our video. Ben, a person in my group, brought 4 gatorades because we were going to need more than one clip, hence the 4 bottles. Last but not least Adriana, another person in my group, brought her phone: an iPhone 11 Pro. This phone has the most amazing camera quality, and we were able to use many different perspectives to shoot our film.

So for the actually making of the video, I for one got a LOT of exercise. For the first part of the commercial, I will be seen doing cool tricks with the soccer ball. Since we had to do retake after retake, I found myself to be pretty sweaty and tired by the end of all our clips. As the video continues, I dribble down the field before stopping, inhaling, and then taking a shot into the soccer goal. Ben will be the goalie in the soccer net as he dives to the side, missing the ball. Then, the POV switches to the back of the net, where my shot swishes against the net. After that, the camera is fixed on a wet Gatorade bottle (to add affect), when I come walking up from the side of the field. I grab hold of the Gatorade bottle and open it. We are later going to add a voice over that will have the noise of the Gatorade bottle opening, so it’s clear. I then bring the bottle to my lips and take a nice long sip. We are deciding if that will be the end, or if we will add anything else on Monday, which is our last day of filming.

While filming, there were many difficulties we had to overcome that we didn’t think about beforehand. First of all, there were many other kids on the field, doing the same as us. A lot of other people forgot their supplies, which included a soccer ball, which we had. We ended up having to share the goal with another group, but it turned out to be okay in the end. Also, while filming we noticed the wind was very strong and we knew it would show up on the video. We made the decision to voiceover the whole video, so the audio would be clear. We ended up having a very good time doing all of this because we had MULTIPLE hilarious bloopers that we are definitely going to make a collage of when we are finished with our commercial. For a sneak peak, I’ll tell you one of the bloopers. When we doing the retakes of me shooting into the net, I shot the ball to where Adriana was holding the camera right behind the net. This also happened to be the same spot in which ben was standing as goalie. As I shot the ball, Ben didn’t have enough reaction time so it hit him smack in the face. He was okay in the end, but I felt horrible. But you know, all is fixed with a bottle of Gatorade ;).

Storyboard

Today in class we edited and finished our story board. We filled six panels (scenes) with the events that will be going on during the commercial. Each box/scene on the storyboard is worth 5 seconds, since the commercial is 30s and there are 6 boxes. In the first scene a girl is running while dribbling  a soccer ball. The camera angle for this scene is a tracking shot, followed by the sound of a crowd cheering in the background. The second panel consists of a zoom that leads to a medium close-up shot. This will be angle facing the girl as she takes a deep breath. For the third panel it will be a wide shot with a high angle of the girl shooting her shot. For the fourth box it will cutaway to a wide shot from behind the net of a girl scoring a goal, and then at the end the same girl bending down to put her hands on her knees. With this motion, it transitions to the girl lifting the Gatorade bottle out of the Gatorade cooler, which is scene five (also called an action match). Then for the final scene it will be the girl opening the Gatorade bottle with the satisfying click and then taking a fat sip of it. All of these noises will be enhanced to fit/match the storyboard.

The finished product with be all of these scenes combined. This storyboard is going to help us organize our commercial. It will also show us the necessary materials we will need to make the commercial the best it can be. The storyboard will most likely end up being refined to make our commercial even more smooth and have the best angles and transitions, but for now this is how it looks.

Editing Lesson

Today in class we learned the basis of editing. We learned how to use the given cannon camera first, and then how to transfer the footage onto the computer so we can begin editing:

For the first part of class we learned how to use the camera. These were things such as placement, memory cards, basically the essentials. First off, the camera cannot charge unless it is closed shut. The SD card goes in the slot on the inside of the camera under a little flap up flip up and down. To place on a tripod, you screw a piece onto the bottom and hook it up to the tripod. When on the tripod, the camera can move up and down, side to side, etc. This is so that we can make different camera angles for our commercial project. To press record on the camera, you click the red button. The microphone is built in so there is nothing you have to do to turn it on. These are the basics of how to handle the camera.

After this we learned how to move the footage from the camera onto the computer so we could begin the editing process. The application we are using to edit is Pinnacle Studios. Once you click on the app, it opens to a page with empty slots for the footage. You insert the SD card from the camera into the computer. This allows the footage to go onto the computer so you can move it to a file. Then I learned you click on import and click on the correct media file (DCIM, private folder), and choose the footage you want to import. Once done importing/editing you take out the SD card, no ejection necessary, and give the SD reader to someone else. You also have to dump all your footage onto the computer so that the next person who uses it doesn’t have your footage as well. Everything being imported will be highlighted and click desktop (my computer) and click on your folder and click start import. This will load all of the footage onto the editing app so that you can begin that process.

Once all the footage you want is on the app, you can begin to edit it. For this, make sure edit is highlighted at the top. The AV track 2 is the one the footage will go in. Above this in AV track 1 will hold the titles. AV track 3 will carry the music for the video. If there is footage that is repeated or unwanted then you place the bar you use to watch the clip to where you want to remove the footage. Then you click on the Razor Blade and it cuts the footage. Then you can simply delete it. If you accidentally delete the wrong footage then you can just click the undo button. If you right click you can see all the editing tools and stuff that will mostly be used on our videos. There was an organize, edit, and author tab that could be used to further edit the video. I learned you can also add transitions to make the footage more smooth and put together. To import and cut music, you go to the imported music in folder MP3. To add or detach audio you can right click and detach it.

These are all the things we learned in class today to help us get ready and understand how to work the camera and to edit. This is going to help my group make our commercial realistic.

Planning

Today my group and I organized our commercial project. This helped us make a schedule to create a project that is well time-managed. It also made it so we had a better understanding on what our commercial was going to look like. For the plan we included: props, costumes, schedules, locations, and a backup plan for if something went wrong. Planning the commercial will help keep us on track and have less of a struggle putting the project together once we have all the components. It also makes sure we have all the components ready for our filming day. Without the plan, we could forget a prop, not manage time well, do the wrong thing on the wrong day, etc. The plan will insure we get everything done correctly and on time. This plan also will contribute greatly to our storyboard we have to eventually make when we are beginning our pre-filming process.
1) Props
-Soccer ball, cleats, Gatorade cooler, a bottle of Gatorade, a camera
2) Costumes
-Soccer jersey, soccer shorts, soccer socks, cleats, hair tie, pre wrap
3) Schedule
10/10 > Planning Period
10/14 > Storyboarding
10/22 > Filming
10/24 > Editing
4) Location
-Soccer field at FLHS
5) Back-up Plan
-In the event that it rains outside, we will still be doing the exact same thing because the rain would actually add to our dramatic effect + it would help with the “sweat” that is going to be on my face in the commercial when I’m running down the field with a soccer ball, so it wouldn’t change anything it actually might help
-If one of our star members or cameraman are absent the day of filming, we will replace them with the next best runner up and/or eliminate the use of them in the film, unless we are allowed to use another student from our class not in our group to take their spot

Research, Conventions, & Codes

As our commercial Macy Doyle, Ben Coleman, Andrew Stern and I have chosen to sell Gatorade. We chose gatorade because we feel it would be a very fun and somewhat east commercial to portray. From our research we’ve seen that many gatorade commercials are typically around 30 seconds long, just like any other commercial but being that they are a sports centered company most of the commercials they produced are centered around athletes. For example a track star or a soccer player on the field and then at the end pop up a picture of their logo. Or even something as simple as a celebrity endorsing the products making it likeable by consumers. There are also typically voiceovers in gatorade and most sports commercials in general. Many of these features although not completely original are factors we want to include in our gatorade commercials as they are very key features of sports commercials.

For our commercial we plan on creating something similar or resembling of a gatorade commercial but still keeping it original and selling the product. Just as a typical gatorade commercial we want to include a sports scene of some sort. Either a soccer team practicing for a game a basketball game or a track star. In the surrounding area we have a small team cheering on with the large gatorade jug typically full of water or electrolyte drink. This would be just to put the name out there not for actual use. This jug would also be accompanied by the small gatorade paper cups. Next to that would be pictured a large cooler full of ice and a variety of bottles of gatorade. A team of players or a runner would run up after a big win or exhausting training session, deeply reach into the cooler and pull out a perfectly nice and cold bottle of gatorade. The person would take a nice sip, feel refreshed, and continue on with the training from their satisfying gatorade. The commercial would include voiceovers upbeat audio and effective camera angles all used to portray the message. We also have other idea yet this is our main one yet is still subject to change.

We feel as thought this commercial would be very effective in explaining to the reader very explicitly what our intention as are and why we are trying to sell. We don’t want to make an intensely emotional connection with the reader but still want to entice them and make them emphasize with us feeling as thought they’ve been in that same prostitution before. The idea is to relate with the audience while also making them want to buy the products. We want to portray this through the use of the acting in the comercial the exhaustion and the feeling is not wanting to be there but pushing through and getting it done with the help of gatorade. As well as making the gatorade look appealing itself with the dripping water and the mouth going on the bottle hearing it flowing down the theorist of the athlete and the sound of refreshment. Almost that of what you hear in a soda commercial. The use of sound camera angles and acting will be very important in this comercial just like any other and aspiring to sell the product while creating a very convincing and appealing commercial.

Introductory

Hi my names is Macy and I am a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School. I was born in 2004 and am a soccer player and a future volleyball player. Throughout my whole life, I’ve never moved houses. My family and I have been living in the same spot since my sister and I were born. However, even though my location hasn’t changed, my house sure did. After hurricane Katrina, the whole entire roof got ripped off of my house, the whole thing flooded and got destroyed besides the bathroom, which is where we were standing during the gist of it. I do not have a memory of this though, because I was only an infant at the time.
At school, I contribute to many classes and sports. My favorite sport is soccer, which I am on the team for currently. My volleyball season just ended, our last game being a win! My favorite classes are most likely Algebra 2, French, and Media because I understand them the easiest and they are the most interesting for me. Since my volleyball season ended, now I get to focus primarily on school and soccer. Soccer really helps clear my mind and take my stress away, which benefits me in and outside school. It also makes me workout, which I can’t do without something forcing me to. I’ve stuck with soccer since I was about 3-4 years old. Ever since then, it has been my sport. I honestly think it’s going to stick with me for life.
To tell you a little about my childhood, when I was little I was quite the adventurous fellow. When we still had our old house when I was really young, we used to go to our neighbors overgrown lawn and catch butterflies. One day, my sister and I walked over with our little nets and started catcher them. We would have a little butterfly basket with cut oranges and nectar for their food that we would carry with us. I remember walking around the yard and seeing something moving so, whack! I put My net right over the butterfly, but little to my knowledge it was an animal of a complete different sort. As soon as the net hit the grass, it started whipping back and forth. Me, a 6 year old, call out to my dad, “I CAUGHT ONE I CAUGHT ONE!” He jogs over with the little basket and starts chucking when he sees my net. I bend down, with the danger-detector of a baby, and lift my catch into the air. The snake wiggled ferociously in my arms, and I just smiled. My dad snapped a great pic of it which I will attach when I find it.
Currently, I am in Aice Media Studies. As I noted before, this is one of my favorite classes due to all of the fun activities we get to do. Right now I am in a group with Adriana, Ben, and Andrew. We are starting to work on our Commercial Project, where we have to make a commercial from a list of items and use different camera angles, sounds, voiceovers, editing, etc. Right now we are thinking about doing it on Gatorade and we are brainstorming different storyboards we could create to make the commercial a very good one. This is one of the reasons I like this class, the ability to work as a team and share ideas to make the best possible product. I look forward to doing many more projects for this class.
